One of the most challenging debates in the contemporary political jurisprudence is the debate about whether it's obligatory or even permissible to overthrow the tyrany regime and form an Islamic government.
A part of these debates was related to the legitimacy of acceptance of losses specially human casualties which would be necessarily paid on the path of the revolution.
The claim of this paper is that the different approaches of Imam Khomeini towards the Islamic Revolution is due to his especial Jurisprudential foundation in the area of commanding good and prohibiting evil and Taqiyah.
From his point of view, the criterion of the commanding good and prohibiting evil not being obligatory and the permission for Taqiyah , is not just the causing of harm or difficulty without considering the importance of the matter and these two don't overrule all the primary rules, but the importance of the subject should be considered.
And he believed that the principles of Islam and Shia are in danger and preserving them is more important than the losses.
Therefore, he didn't just permit the overthrowing of the Pahlavi regime, but he also considered it obligatory .
From the writers points of views, this jurisprudential theory is based on the reason, being the criterion of determining the expansion or reduction of a religious rule which is extracted from the Religious Documents if it's proved that the unity of it's criterion has been based on the reason's judgment.
