Problem: The main issue addressed in this research is the decline of the Quran’s scientific authority in contemporary Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and the numerous challenges in deriving rulings for emerging issues from the Quran. This has led to an incomplete utilization of Quranic capacities in addressing novel issues.
Objective: To analyze the challenges facing the Quran’s scientific authority in contemporary fiqh and examine the difficulties in deriving rulings for emerging issues from the Quran, with the aim of proposing solutions to revive the Quran’s position in the derivation of jurisprudential rulings.
Method: This research employs an analytical-descriptive method with a library-based approach. The primary method of data collection and analysis involves studying contemporary jurisprudential and exegetical texts and documents, along with case studies of emerging issues in the fields of medicine, economics, and information technology.
Results: 1- Identification of serious challenges to the Quran’s scientific authority in contemporary fiqh, including: hermeneutical problems in interpreting verses; insufficient attention to the context and historical background of revelation; apparent conflicts between some verses and new scientific findings; and methodological weaknesses in deriving rulings for emerging issues from the Quran. 2- Observation of incomplete utilization of Quranic capacities by contemporary jurists in addressing emerging issues. 3- Proposal of solutions to revive the Quran’s position in deriving jurisprudential rulings, including: reviewing interpretative and inferential methods; focusing on the objectives of Sharia; strengthening the relationship between Quranic sciences and modern sciences; and employing interdisciplinary approaches in understanding and interpreting the Quran. 4- Emphasis on the role of these solutions in enhancing the dynamism of Islamic jurisprudence in facing contemporary global challenges.
